In About Us

Spoiler: We didn’t stumble upon a long-lost family funnel cake recipe. And we don’t have a funnel cake food truck. Yet. Bet you’re wondering when this will actually get delicious then. Well, let’s dig in.

Who is FunnelCake?

We aren’t bakers, but we think we have a pretty cool life recipe. We’re just two farm girls who grew up a cornfield away from each other (but didn’t know it–cornfields are big). After college and living in Asia (where there definitely aren’t funnel cakes), we both ended up (many passport stamps later) in Arizona. Nicole started a business and her MBA, while I  convinced my then-job to let me try out a new thing called Facebook to help with marketing. The rest is history!

What’s the deal with that name?

There are a few parts to this recipe. 1. We like fun. And unconventional ways of describing things. 2. We live and breathe sales and marketing funnels. 3. Social media helps feed the top of that funnel. Mix it all together and you have FunnelCake! Who said sales and marketing couldn’t be fun? (Oh, we don’t follow traditional rules. On anything. Especially fro-yo as an acceptable dinner option.)

Was this a crazy idea? You bet!

Bonus ingredient: Architecting (yup, we made “architect” a verb). This is important to FunnelCake because our goal is to help build businesses build their social media communities. Which leads us to…

So, if we aren’t gearing up for county fair season, what in the world does FunnelCake do?

Plain and simple: We educate and empower businesses to manage their own social media. That means we’re the opposite of traditional agencies. Although we’d have a blast telling the social media story of the treasures at your antique store or your third-generation family farm, the tools are low-cost or mostly free to manage it yourself with limited time. And, you know your business better than anyone else!

What’s the powdered sugar (and marshmallow fluff) on top of our funnel cake?

We get to combine two things we’re ridiculously passionate about, social media marketing and small businesses, and use what we know to help businesses grow. Double order of that, please!
