One of our favorite things about the holiday season? Markets, craft shows and plenty of places to find handmade gifts! For everyone out there on the business side, I know you’re racing against the clock updating inventory and meeting holiday shopping deadlines. Although you wouldn’t want me in your workshop helping (I’d be a bit more Buddy the Elf than is helpful), we do have some resources that might help you get ahead of your holiday season social media plans. Less stress & work + happy customers = win win, right?

November & December are here…now what to post on social media?

There’s a LOT of ground to cover, so pace yourself, or you’ll end up worse than the year I started on pumpkin pie in October. (I was burnt out on it by Thanksgiving, but I persevered.) But for real: Between gratitude messages, Black Friday specials, holiday closures and colder weather in general, your options for business social media post topics are on the “all the things” spectrum, which brings its own problems determining when, where and which ones. With a little pre-planning, that will all work out in your favor, and it will be January 2nd before you’re at a loss for what to post about.

Small Business Saturday is all About YOU!

Now, I’m the first to say it’s cool that it exists, but it sure can sneak up on you right after Thanksgiving. Tip: Try to work it into some posts ahead of Thanksgiving so it doesn’t get lost in Thanksgiving and Black Friday messages. When you’re a small business with limited time and resources, it’s also incredibly helpful that the Small Business Saturday website offers a lot of support, including an ever-growing DIY materials section (everything from customizable print-outs to social media graphics done for you in about 30 seconds!).  2019 event hashtags to use: #shopsmall & #smallbizsat
