Does this sound familiar? Open fridge. Eyes go up and down the shelves. Close fridge. Proceed to a cupboard. Open. Browse. Back to the fridge. Repeat.
How about the other favorite: It’s 9:00 p.m. and you need a quick dinner between 9 million other things.
Where are we going here? (Other than to the grocery store…) As a small business owner, feeding your social media accounts can play out in a similar way. Some of the common culprits:
- Nothing to post. Maybe you don’t have your own robust website or new blog content. Or, you haven’t grocery shopped in a while.
- No time. When do you find the time to dig into perfecting your social media “recipe”? We’re always hearing that social media is one of the first things to go on small business’ back burners with so many other demands.
- Complex process. Creating your social media “recipe” and trying out new things is exhausting. And, it changes frequently.
- Uncertainty. How do you use the content you do have? What are the best practices?
Just like the dinner discussion, all of these are enough to make you just give up for the day or week. Or put the same old standby on repeat (we’re looking at you, pb&j).
Solution: Learn how to decipher those social media terms, get some new content recipes in your cookbook and learn how to tackle these tasks quickly every day.
